Backup STS · Qudeox QCB-400V
Qudeox QCB-400V · STS cabinet for power continuity
400 V Static Transfer Switch designed to work with BESS and critical loads in backup applications.
Qudeox positions QCB-400V as an accessory to QC-215K-O for backup power during grid outages. The STS manages source transfer; actual backup duration still depends on battery energy, available power and the critical-load profile.

Fast transfer for critical loads
QCB-400V is integrated between grid, BESS and the loads defined in the electrical scheme. Before installation, KES identifies circuits to be maintained, simultaneous power, selectivity, protections and island-operation conditions.

Where an STS adds value
Continuity without backing up the entire building
Critical-load protection
Backup can be designed around the circuits that genuinely need to stay online during a grid loss.
Static transfer
Qudeox states seamless transition without load power failure detection within the intended manufacturer architecture.
High load tolerance
The manufacturer states 10× rated making current and 2× rated breaking current.
Low losses
Qudeox highlights minimal heat generation and no dedicated cooling-system cost.
QCB-400V
Manufacturer-defined electrical ratings
The STS must be integrated into the overall protection scheme rather than treated in isolation. Qudeox publishes 500 A rated current, 800 V insulation and 6 kV impulse withstand for the current online revision.
Coordination with BESS and controls
The STS is part of an architecture that also includes controls, BESS, PCS and protections. KES verifies signals, interlocks and operating modes before defining the final solution.
QC-215K-O + QCB-400V
Qudeox specifies this pairing for backup during grid outages. Backup duration is not defined by the STS: KES calculates available energy, starting power, essential loads and load-shedding strategy.

General data
Source: current official Qudeox QCB-400V product page and Qudeox 2026 catalogue. The revision discrepancy in IP rating/weight is explicitly disclosed rather than silently reconciled.
Document revision check before supply
Qudeox's current online page and the supplied 2026 catalogue differ in some general data. We therefore show the current online revision and explicitly flag the need to confirm the actual supplied revision.
- Current online page: IP54 and 225 kg
- Supplied Qudeox 2026 catalogue: IP44 and 255±10 kg
- Main matching data: AC400 V, 500 A, 2×100 kW ESS, 2×100 kW load, 1000×900×2100 mm
We do not guess which revision supersedes the other. Before quoting or installation, KES will request the datasheet/drawing corresponding to the equipment revision actually supplied. This is also not presented as Spanish grid-connection approval.
Backup engineering by KES Energy
The objective is not simply to add an STS, but to create a safe, testable continuity architecture around the customer's priority loads.
Which loads must stay online during an outage?
With a load list, power values and required autonomy, we can determine whether QC-215K-O + QCB-400V is appropriate or whether another architecture is needed.
